Sorry for being absent I got a bit on the busy side here with looking after baby hedgehogs. Well that is my excuse anyway. I had a bit of a health scare and so have decided to take a back seat with the looking after the hedgehogs, instead I can help in another way...... making things to help raise funds to help other rescues look after them. I have also joined a few others in raising funds for other charities too. So back to doing my crocheting and card making. And here are a few items I have been busy making for charity, family and friends....<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHkITjx6hH2heIGdZStzZTtv8V8weNBRmAK2NO7HZoRms7oJmD05OGqrFLlwXWqlKuti1BKh7jinRE0g62eVITtS_9qtOolnyHbLaignkg4m1t2CO4GJo6jrQWm9fLGN1CWfUD_WL2LtTI/s1600/baby+girl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHkITjx6hH2heIGdZStzZTtv8V8weNBRmAK2NO7HZoRms7oJmD05OGqrFLlwXWqlKuti1BKh7jinRE0g62eVITtS_9qtOolnyHbLaignkg4m1t2CO4GJo6jrQWm9fLGN1CWfUD_WL2LtTI/s320/baby+girl.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We had a new baby girl born in the family in the new year. I made a cute little outfit to welcome her to the family and a matching blanket.<br />

Then my neighbour was expecting a little boy. So I made a few little items for him. I really enjoyed making these items for the babies. <br />

We also had our own addition to the family here since my last posting...... This is Millie our rescue dog. She keeps us both busy and on our toes. She is short haired and so feels the cold a bit. So I made her a sweater. I have also joined a Knit and Natter group at our local library. We meet on two different days of the week. And it is fortnightly..... but I end up going every week. :) I am hoping to learn to make a pair of socks.<br />
I have also found my mojo again with my card making too. I did make our Christmas cards again this year and a few birthday cards. I have been getting a few new dies for my die cutting and this is the results. <br />

We have a new craft shopping channel here and I have fallen for Creative Expressions and the team of crafters they have. These are from Sue Wilson's dies. Another American who I really admire her work. And if you would like to check out her cards which are works of art you can visit her blog too. http://particraft.blogspot.co.uk/ She has loads of ideas and videos of how to make her cards. Don't blame me if you get hooked too. :)<br />

We have taken in over 30 this year so that hasn't left much time for me to keep up with my blogging. Though I do try. I still keep up with some crafting. Alot of which now goes to charities, especially the hedgehog ones. But a few others too. :) I have been making loads of quick cards and some fun different designs from CUP (Crafts U Print) I love making them as they all look so professional when you get them done. One of the designers there, Sharon Poore, has some really fun designs and I just love her Easel cards. We have become really good friends over the past few months and she has been saying I should become a designer, so...... I did. LOL I took the plunge and now I am making some designs for CUP. You can see them here.....
<a href="http://www.craftsuprint.com/patricia-platt/">My CUP home page</a><br />
<br />
And if you would like to see some of the cards I have made they can be seen in the Gallery <a href="http://www.craftforums.co.uk/gallery/browseimages.php?c=442&userid=">here</a><br />
<br />
Below is my two card kits I have made so far. One is an easel card and the other is a scalloped pocket card. I hope you all will stop by and have a look at the designs I am making and also check out some of the lovely designs the others make too. Who knows you may well become as addicted as I am to CUP. :)

I just love that website and visit it most every day at least once if not more. There is so much going on there with Bingo, Bob Treasure hunt, card making and the forum and contests. Speaking of which. I won a card challenge on there for the Charity Card Challenge. The theme was spring.<br />

This too is another of Sharon's designs. I printed off a few extra bits and made a bit of a fish and bobber bunting.<br />
I have made a new friend there at <a href="http://www.blogger.com/%3Ca%20href=%22http://www.craftsuprint.com/default.cfm?r=536021&cardmaker=5006%22%3E%20%3Cimg%20src=%22http://www.craftsuprint.com/images/craftsuprint/3.gif%22%20width=%22170%22%20height=%22120%22%20alt=%22Craftsuprint%20-%20The%20Worlds%20Largest%20Legal%20Craft%20Download%20Site%21%22%3E%20%3C/a%3E">CUP</a> now too...... Sharon. We have been bouncing ideas around for different types of cards and things. I asked her if she could do some seed packets in one of my favourite designs that she does. And she did. :) Ever since our friendship has been growing. I really enjoy making the cards from her designs and she is but one on the <a href="http://www.blogger.com/%3Ca%20href=%22http://www.craftsuprint.com/default.cfm?r=536021&cardmaker=5006%22%3E%20%3Cimg%20src=%22http://www.craftsuprint.com/images/craftsuprint/3.gif%22%20width=%22170%22%20height=%22120%22%20alt=%22Craftsuprint%20-%20The%20Worlds%20Largest%20Legal%20Craft%20Download%20Site%21%22%3E%20%3C/a%3E">CUP</a> site. If you get the chance you really should go and check their site out if you like doing decoupage cards. If you get a gold star sheet and are a registered card maker and post a photo up in the allowed time. You could get some compensation every time the sheet sells. The most I have made in a few months time is a few pounds here and there. It allows me to get a few free designs each month. :) Also you can join in on the Affiliate program and earn per clicks. I too have join on this so if you would click on the links I would appreciate it. :) It is only 2p per click, but it all helps. And if you order from one of my links then I get a percentage from that order. So it is more than just your ordinary crafting site.<br />

While the builders were installing the new windows and in between making gallons of tea, I planned ahead and had printed off loads of sheets from the CUP website. I would sit and cut out the toppers and put them together between the cups of tea to be made, keeping well out of the way of the men that were busy putting the windows in. <br />
Well we now have nice new windows and a lovely new front door and a lovely new boiler too. And I have loads of new cards made up which has been an added bonus of the DIY getting done.<br />
Here are some of the ones I made up during last week, some of which are now with my friend Marc to sell for his girls. He is planning on something special for them at Christmas and I wanted to help him out. He has a little charity thing going on at the hospital that he visits for his treatments for Cancer and these poor girls and kids have it too. So what little we can do will brighten their lives just a bit when they need it. I hope he does really well on his craft sale. <br />

This lady in gold is the first one I made and I knew Marc would love it so I sent it off to him and he is putting it in a box for bids to be taken on it and has already made at least £5 for it. I also got recognition on the CUP website for it too. It received the designer's card of the Moment. I love getting the card of the moment. It really makes me feel I have done the best I could on the card and the designers like what I have done with their sheets.<br />

I have been a bit busy making up my Christmas cards while I can. But also trying to get some other cards made up for Birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I want to also get some made up ahead that I might be able to sell to raise some money for the hedgehogs too. But it is a very slow process for me as I enjoy the process of making the cards so much that I only seem to get about 5 done in a day. </div><br />

I am proud of it, as it is my very first Shaker card that actually works! I put some glitter between the acetate layer and the card and it is really quite pretty with the glistening snow effect. It is so easy to make stunning cards with the sheets these designers produce and you can make them too if you visit the link I have on my side bar. I hope to get my Christmas cards all made soon and do loads of them for charity too. I am still doing lots of quick cards that I download the sheets from CUP and I have had a special week last week. Not only did one of my cards make Card of the moment, but I had three cards make it. :) It is such a buzz to see my cards there with the others. The designers choose which cards made from their sheets get this honor. And to have three designers choose my cards.... well lets just say poor Brian had to put up with my excitement and he just didn't quite understand. Poor man. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This card is called a wobble card. :) And is number CUP135632_613 if you would like to make it also. The penguins and polar bear are so cute. I punched out some snowflakes with one of my punches and added them to the card along with some sparkly peeloff centres. I added a bit of glitter to the hats and the scarf. It is a really cute quick card to make. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVv6HwF2YKHpRBf1UMQXSwcJYmHHCQ_RIqpXZ5x5Gdpv89IDLNeBfxZjiTQq8Dj2r5k2G1JQ_yCipxzTBjO8zufaMAhMupp-3F6x9vp4vjgVjgKjxY8DFAVWCSq3ogWtx4enwelKrwab25/s1600/cup135621_452.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVv6HwF2YKHpRBf1UMQXSwcJYmHHCQ_RIqpXZ5x5Gdpv89IDLNeBfxZjiTQq8Dj2r5k2G1JQ_yCipxzTBjO8zufaMAhMupp-3F6x9vp4vjgVjgKjxY8DFAVWCSq3ogWtx4enwelKrwab25/s320/cup135621_452.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

<div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div>This one is CUP135621_452 and is a gorgeous design. I love wintry village scenes and lace. I had some snowflakes and snowflake flourishes that I had cut out last Christmas and glittered and thought they would be perfect for this card. I turned it into an easel card with lots of glitter. The base is a pearlescent linen type of card that sparkles and then the silver mirror board and peeloffs add to the sparkle. <br />

<br />
This one is CUP135641_489 and is one of those spring cards. I made one ages ago on my own, but this one was so much quicker and actually works much better. It is so quick and easy to make and looks really lovely. I added some gold waste peeloffs to the centre of the flowers.... they were little dots left from using the other part of the peeloff... so don't throw those bits out. And then I added on a gold greeting to one corner of the base and a Poinsettia diecut that I coloured and added a bit of glitter. <br />
The above three cards are the ones that were chosen to be card of the moment for their respective designers. </div><div align="left" class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

CUP135613_539. It is what I call a bargain!!! You get 4 different images on the one sheet and so you can make 4 different cards. I was in a bit of a hurry and made 3 cards onto just a a6 size card. Soon those will be done and I will be back looking after hedgehogs. But hopefully I will still have time to make more cards. You can see some of the cards I have made by visiting.... <a href="http://www.craftsuprint.com/patriciaplatt">My page here</a><br /><br />They are fun and the designs are lovely and very good quality when you print them out. I have been spending some time making some cards. I came across this site that a friend recommended to me from my Ebay Group. It is called CUP or Crafts U Print. You can click on the logo to visit their site.... :)<br /><br /><a href="http://www.craftsuprint.com/default.cfm?r=536021&cardmaker=5006"><br /><img alt="Craftsuprint - The Worlds Largest Legal Craft Download Site!" src="http://www.craftsuprint.com/images/craftsuprint/craftsu.gif" width="170" height="120" /><br /></a><br /><br /><br />And it is just so full of lovely ideas for all sorts of cards. You buy the sheets and then print off as many copies as you want. I print mine out on glossy photo paper and they are brilliant. I have done a few cards so far and really love the designs....<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXsl2L6fpkw0SQdKvMDuKKo3LjELTpa8VMb7Fk4iQw2k67Qhr19amdg_-_iTWQU4Bb5I6MJW4eOXRtabjRYKnVq6UgpCrVQYryVG7uUGLjV5_S5Iy6tH0DNTfS9vwUBwHzvBeXGt28mbtj/s1600/2010_0910cards20004.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 294px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516857709145284834" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXsl2L6fpkw0SQdKvMDuKKo3LjELTpa8VMb7Fk4iQw2k67Qhr19amdg_-_iTWQU4Bb5I6MJW4eOXRtabjRYKnVq6UgpCrVQYryVG7uUGLjV5_S5Iy6tH0DNTfS9vwUBwHzvBeXGt28mbtj/s320/2010_0910cards20004.JPG" /></a><br />cup127284_359 - Apple Blossom Scallop Corner side stacker Topper - The sheet for this card was designed by Carol Clarke. I found it a lovely design to work with and it has so many different card possibilities. I made this one though for my dear friend Gill who recently lost her husband. And added a sentiment to the insert. It was quite a shock to us all and to her and her family. And my deepest of sympathy goes out to them.<br />I think though the design can be used not only for a sympathy card, but also for birthdays, a wedding, thinking of you, get well or any number of occasions.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDvktO8KnUZdiHma5KI-F8OAIUpPJCKM0ieWyxrlDYJA4wC5Fc8phlmmZ5NSdlhfGqSLX5vloQW1SRwiDkHl07GP7xKFxNUfGeZ3jCJwkoJ99rxlyFPTI1jfW2HEXXRWfBITuaTrs3wclT/s1600/2010_0910cards0058.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 314px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516857690896120178" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDvktO8KnUZdiHma5KI-F8OAIUpPJCKM0ieWyxrlDYJA4wC5Fc8phlmmZ5NSdlhfGqSLX5vloQW1SRwiDkHl07GP7xKFxNUfGeZ3jCJwkoJ99rxlyFPTI1jfW2HEXXRWfBITuaTrs3wclT/s320/2010_0910cards0058.JPG" /></a><br />cup127205_10 - Snow Village Snow One Edge Scallop Bottom Stacker - The sheet for this card was designed by Ann-marie Vaux. I love this card!! I wasn't sure when I printed it off if I would like this type of card, but after working with it I love it!!!!!! I wish you could see it in person as it really is a stunning card. And I can't believe I made it. It looks so lovely and professional that I just can't believe I did it. LOL The mirror board layer helps to set it off and I love the touch of glitter on the snowflake decoration. I may next time add a bit of glitter to the snow in places. :) This sheet will be printed out alot this year and lots of these cards will be going out to family and friends. :)<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXRztRuj-HgiL9GidDdm4FPJbh29lW6qLBQWJ3T5G6bZM3yPVkOC8thc4A0cElz602-WaJvgDmUPiTlH7_ua6H1kMjAkWW1uVISX5iGolAk6-zeEPIoStu4YZF7AzrK0Hii63aE-n94xXY/s1600/2010_0910cards0040.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 317px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516857671972262258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXRztRuj-HgiL9GidDdm4FPJbh29lW6qLBQWJ3T5G6bZM3yPVkOC8thc4A0cElz602-WaJvgDmUPiTlH7_ua6H1kMjAkWW1uVISX5iGolAk6-zeEPIoStu4YZF7AzrK0Hii63aE-n94xXY/s320/2010_0910cards0040.JPG" /></a><br />cup127258_10 - Cute Reindeer One Edge Scallop Bottom Stacker - The sheet for this card was also designed by Ann-marie Vaux. It is called an over the edge card. And it is quite cute and fun to make. Along with being quick. You cut out the design that stands above the card.... ie over the edge. :) I added a bit of glitter to the mouse's hat. And there are loads of decorations you could add to the card. And there is the tag too.... so you could always use the tag to go on a present.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKVP_gWsy_EO4bEVkEUKFAok-RXnZ5EBJeFVyKXEHRjYuEOXkyNEoIg3T5gUhWxWomGe53gQuUex4ZP27m4QpNCxauqbhE8tqmnVr7RBn-RumpOgrfZVINW8ihOa9qXpEAjQ7T1HTbTWMK/s1600/4.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 318px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516857723362652210" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKVP_gWsy_EO4bEVkEUKFAok-RXnZ5EBJeFVyKXEHRjYuEOXkyNEoIg3T5gUhWxWomGe53gQuUex4ZP27m4QpNCxauqbhE8tqmnVr7RBn-RumpOgrfZVINW8ihOa9qXpEAjQ7T1HTbTWMK/s320/4.jpg" /></a><br />cup120794_99 - Anniversary Roses Easel Card - The sheet for this card was designed by Mary Jane Harris. I like to have a few anniversary cards around to send to folks and this one was a novel new type of card to me. I did alter the card from what the designer intended and came up with this card. I resized the topper bit a little to give it a bit more contrast. It is known as an easel card. And it sits on its base and folds up in the middle with a topper on this and then a stop on the base so that it sits up. A cute little design. :)<br /><br />Well any way this is just the start of a few of the cards I have made from this lovely website. I do hope you all will visit. And if you visit via my link then I earn money..... You can too if you visit and sign up to be a registered card maker or an affiliate or a designer. There are also some games on there.... Like Crafty Bob Bingo and Hunt for Crafty Bob. I am still looking for him. And was just two numbers away on the bingo the other day. Anyway, if you want a bit of fun and have a few days to while away looking at cards then it is well worth a visit. :) Have fun!!!Pathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04495028405455874666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4629642069200719882.post-92019943868753742342010-05-17T09:58:00.000-07:002010-05-17T10:13:34.722-07:00Spike<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivnJi3oiBwY0BFl8rT0cHhJkFHUOGr-ij1YtPtLef0gzWyC946uJGD3cAGCQ77uOj-QHOI-GrDOAwID1Ekkryaoio4ue5l7tIaCdM3vd53CjfN6ucGgNkZBKfXlg5fTQQjb24jnJZjPjyv/s1600/wc7a.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 314px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472284535701775906" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivnJi3oiBwY0BFl8rT0cHhJkFHUOGr-ij1YtPtLef0gzWyC946uJGD3cAGCQ77uOj-QHOI-GrDOAwID1Ekkryaoio4ue5l7tIaCdM3vd53CjfN6ucGgNkZBKfXlg5fTQQjb24jnJZjPjyv/s320/wc7a.jpg" /></a><br />This is one of the lovely Hedgehog images from <a href="http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/catalog/index.php">DigiStamp Boutique</a> . You can read all about it here on their Blog under <a href="http://digistampboutique.blogspot.com/p/may-competition.html">May Competition</a>. :)<br /><br />I really enjoy working with their images and especially with my new pro markers. :) I also did this card for a challenge in my Ebay group, this time it was for a recipe.... I hope the lady who receives it enjoys it as much as I did making it.<br />First off I used Publisher to make my tri fold card and to make templates for cutting out the backing paper and also the insert to go behind the section with the girl on it.<br />I used a colour for the backing paper that I am not that comfortable using..... Orange. So it was a challenge for me trying to make a card with it. I did the back ground panels and put gold peeloffs around each panel. Then I coloured in one of the cute little Japanese digi stamps - Sachi -which I bought from <a href="http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/catalog/view-digi-stamps-anything-else-c-3_9.html">DigiStamp Boutique</a> . I used my pro markers to colour her in. Then I cut her out and put foam pads to raise her slightly. Next I made the little lanterns. I found the idea in one of the craft magazines and it is easy peasy to make.... Use pinking shears to cut strips.... Making sure they line up. Then using a fine line permanent pen mark the curved lines. Stamp flower image or draw one on, use ink on edges and or chalks. Then take a bit of copper wire and make a hanger... I used Prit gel to stick it onto the card.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPaQL0gwVkt-inpoYHyjrkZKSOVU-66u5yGVNdQNIJR6_o_8AQ4OUEtc_AWkZyZGU5X032YNv1kHiQYKObRBXcFeczQWLqJmt9_zcgzpA-BY6C39G1h5MCW3r7wumE7JIqqRbn3l8QLTdR/s1600/121c.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 263px; HEIGHT: 197px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472215887494045042" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPaQL0gwVkt-inpoYHyjrkZKSOVU-66u5yGVNdQNIJR6_o_8AQ4OUEtc_AWkZyZGU5X032YNv1kHiQYKObRBXcFeczQWLqJmt9_zcgzpA-BY6C39G1h5MCW3r7wumE7JIqqRbn3l8QLTdR/s320/121c.jpg" /></a><br />I had punched out several flowers and chalked and shaped them with my embossing mat and embossing tools. Then glued together with a chalked center and peel off. Then punched some leaves from a Chinese newspaper and coloured them in using my cocoa pro marker.<br />Next I die cut some butterflies using the backing paper as the base of the butterfly and then the top butterfly I cut from Chinese newspaper again. Then using my pro markers I coloured it in.... shading the wings with Mandarin and Amber and Cocoa again for the wings.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7J2N9Voj604SeyMVLgZjrsLAJhZCF2TuxhYelm4F_sw_9ISNVPG61J2wGPiqkBTGhtWE0f62a4ErTaXYU6Hchu4kPQQs3BhDGYmzGymK8BN0mTqtgZMv1VJ2nmgho1LmCLOeajx390b2m/s1600/121b.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 240px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472215881448932466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7J2N9Voj604SeyMVLgZjrsLAJhZCF2TuxhYelm4F_sw_9ISNVPG61J2wGPiqkBTGhtWE0f62a4ErTaXYU6Hchu4kPQQs3BhDGYmzGymK8BN0mTqtgZMv1VJ2nmgho1LmCLOeajx390b2m/s320/121b.jpg" /></a><br />I also made a lollipop flower using the newspaper again and some black card. I think just working with the yarn makes me feel warmer. I had started this afghan ages ago and finally finished it this past week here. I picked it up again to work on when we had all that snow. It was warm sitting under it snuggled on the couch with Jingles cuddled up under it while I was putting the rows together. It is nice and warm besides being pretty to look at. :)<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhihv9PikjheuN0J8p1ZcEOdyfCyJg3JK-z5BZYzlCZKqWk5u0vD4diKj_Bq39UZMvzRmnWaiFEt8rDbJE88KTkAw_Fx-U7ereWjpUyFYOQvx8CNXanqwMD4qpyFqLuLVvQ5VmhGRyZzC9u/s1600-h/Dscf6305A.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431013686433353938" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhihv9PikjheuN0J8p1ZcEOdyfCyJg3JK-z5BZYzlCZKqWk5u0vD4diKj_Bq39UZMvzRmnWaiFEt8rDbJE88KTkAw_Fx-U7ereWjpUyFYOQvx8CNXanqwMD4qpyFqLuLVvQ5VmhGRyZzC9u/s320/Dscf6305A.jpg" /></a><br />I have already started my next crochet project. :) Trying this hexagon pattern. You put it together as you go.... So it should be quite a colourful afghan. :) Great for using up little bits of yarn leftover from other projects. I found the pattern on the website.... <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/">Raverly</a> and from there to this blog post <a href="http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/hexagon-howto/comments/page/2/">From Attic24</a> with the pattern. She has some really good clear instructions for crocheting the Hexagons. :)<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvDWkyB7bldkk71Yy7hQ7_3kdUM3P_1Y-wOvxLrttdnkmkMUHeW24RU7cBmEN4iQUbdeDizHzUqfOUGHjZbyr9DtzdsRpWGI-vaPYygqFBq9X2PqSSJm0wxWXWo4-zZnF2a-qOeKLgux5k/s1600-h/Dscf6307A.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 191px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431013697829875090" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvDWkyB7bldkk71Yy7hQ7_3kdUM3P_1Y-wOvxLrttdnkmkMUHeW24RU7cBmEN4iQUbdeDizHzUqfOUGHjZbyr9DtzdsRpWGI-vaPYygqFBq9X2PqSSJm0wxWXWo4-zZnF2a-qOeKLgux5k/s320/Dscf6307A.jpg" /></a><br /><br />Also I have been busy working on some Valentine cards for a card contest in my Ebay group. And the first one I want to enter is this card into the Snowflake Challenge at <a href="http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.com/"><span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kaboodle</span> Doodles.</a> The two snowflakes are cut from plain white card using my Craft R<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">obo</span> and then glittered up with white glitter. The digital image is from <a href="http://pollycraftdesigns.blogspot.com/">Tales from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">PollyCraft</span></a>. I find this cute little fellow lovely to colour in using my <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">water colouring</span> pencils. I layered and mounted onto a white 6x6 card using card and paper from my stash. And added a sentiment from my stash also.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3p6oyBtt1AUoEnuTXEK7NJKLwoxxqtLmXiucMcyP8nIAryxPkcNiC7Igg5pOuJkxvNEyLAn-ZD19YZpE3XPZ8zySUv-StKaXQw7eEtBI4J_qnt14gP81wYyz6A2zxzUGTfoWNqlIm398h/s1600/Dscf6108.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 302px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410303066747561858" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3p6oyBtt1AUoEnuTXEK7NJKLwoxxqtLmXiucMcyP8nIAryxPkcNiC7Igg5pOuJkxvNEyLAn-ZD19YZpE3XPZ8zySUv-StKaXQw7eEtBI4J_qnt14gP81wYyz6A2zxzUGTfoWNqlIm398h/s320/Dscf6108.jpg" /></a><br />And while I am on a roll I would also like to enter this card into the Sparkle Challenge over at<br /><a href="http://digitaltuesdaychallenge.blogspot.com/">Digital Tuesday Challenge</a> Sparkle Challenge. Both of the snowflakes are very sparkly and again this lovely digital image comes from the <a href="http://pollycraftdesigns.blogspot.com/">Tales from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">PollyCraft</span></a> website. They have loads more lovely images too.<br />I hope you enjoyed my first challenge card. :)Pathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04495028405455874666noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4629642069200719882.post-58921811937519436272009-11-01T06:25:00.000-08:002009-11-01T06:33:53.870-08:00Digi stampsI am just now getting into using <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">digi</span> stamps. I don't know if you all have tried these yet or not. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Basically</span> you buy an image from an online shop and then use your own photo editing program to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">resize</span> to the size you want or need and then print them off. I did these two cards for a contest in my <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">ebay</span> group and I won 2<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">nd</span> and 3rd places on them. :) They are such cute images.<br />You can see these and more at <a href="http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/catalog/digi-stamps-c-3.html"><span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Digi</span> Stamps</a> . They also have a contest you can enter and also a monthly freebie so you can give it a try before you buy. I do find with my water colours I sometimes get the printer ink running slightly. But overall they are fun to work with and I like the lovely images they have on offer. Their collections and monthly offers are a great value too. :)<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLtl9mk-eKPpdfCcWHNhGyWJL03xE4xPWVhe_Zg9uZpK02DRWtxWi4I5r2Kyx2ThNz9hjLNQiyhE3scvUzMkpO4AjoWDuPCi13T9tGGbaaZp99sChxZ4_3uPwIz4jrqfWKKh4MS6PBdSO1/s1600-h/16.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 312px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399141503553527490" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLtl9mk-eKPpdfCcWHNhGyWJL03xE4xPWVhe_Zg9uZpK02DRWtxWi4I5r2Kyx2ThNz9hjLNQiyhE3scvUzMkpO4AjoWDuPCi13T9tGGbaaZp99sChxZ4_3uPwIz4jrqfWKKh4MS6PBdSO1/s320/16.jpg" /></a><br />This is Milly and Snowball.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSZDumldZLTXJ3x2k6fKUzP8fEYCEn6gBDAJgRxaY9lme3C-oAztX7Jkxk_OvMis1EAtORFvGoP3uPuc-kzQZl_PaxQAAkONUPMogMPyVKYwGnrHYHjgUSIQjNc1za5WHiYjF6pNuXg-1b/s1600-h/2.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 316px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399141499200526258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSZDumldZLTXJ3x2k6fKUzP8fEYCEn6gBDAJgRxaY9lme3C-oAztX7Jkxk_OvMis1EAtORFvGoP3uPuc-kzQZl_PaxQAAkONUPMogMPyVKYwGnrHYHjgUSIQjNc1za5WHiYjF6pNuXg-1b/s320/2.jpg" /></a><br />And this is Alex and Felicity.Pathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04495028405455874666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4629642069200719882.post-90473559669038459272009-10-31T04:36:00.000-07:002009-10-31T04:45:35.955-07:00Blog Candy available from Pink PiggyHi all, sorry for being a bit absent of late. We did have a card competition on my ebay group. And I came in Second with my daisy doggy card. <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDylrpTcDhewr_xHbdvV_RsUAgHuGmnZV-ilZXnu_f382YgeYvHbwj4BV3xfK2gvk8TeUdpsSOqIXZX1pIINOGujIH0HRyMgmSz3SQM6Nmgw7nBHU_GUgYqPBFPdLAlNwRKDuK9Fx6dbXL/s1600-h/16.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350140910855702002" style="WIDTH: 314px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDylrpTcDhewr_xHbdvV_RsUAgHuGmnZV-ilZXnu_f382YgeYvHbwj4BV3xfK2gvk8TeUdpsSOqIXZX1pIINOGujIH0HRyMgmSz3SQM6Nmgw7nBHU_GUgYqPBFPdLAlNwRKDuK9Fx6dbXL/s320/16.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I also made this card for the competion.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_ZAuUpR65O7jmA91i9cry1hL3wQLxYUP2EuQEja7ATuFKidXGxQHgytgmjQIXv4HGqcz7SKEyxp1Ser8NpkpvALq8q5V5rxSB-BgJ8eWn8vWvagDLeEQ_GFrpLesJqrxfCyyMqAQ2JxZs/s1600-h/1.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350140907921389042" style="WIDTH: 235px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_ZAuUpR65O7jmA91i9cry1hL3wQLxYUP2EuQEja7ATuFKidXGxQHgytgmjQIXv4HGqcz7SKEyxp1Ser8NpkpvALq8q5V5rxSB-BgJ8eWn8vWvagDLeEQ_GFrpLesJqrxfCyyMqAQ2JxZs/s320/1.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />And then Jingles and I made another one very similar for his dad for Fathers day. :) His contribution was a nice stamped pawprint inside.<br /><div></div>Pathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04495028405455874666noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4629642069200719882.post-15233141969979115802009-05-13T00:54:00.000-07:002009-05-13T01:19:33.781-07:00May 13th 2009What a busy time I am having lately. :) I am busy with the gardening and with new little Hedgehog visitors here. The <a href="http://www.littlehavens.org.uk/">Little Havens Children's Hospice</a> . Below are some of the cards I have made for them. I also made a load for my friend in Cornwall for her animal sanctuary. :)<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-BFWtYVtJ9BFKx_maAGEGA_pSjjP39AU43sEOeiaMfXP0KuNk_oEXQMM375yxlBsB_S3otlm4SOBbZlz0L9Ds1eqe12DyvcweHrBZFZ8zo9MS5tkcYmkAFQ2J6VIL2aLWOyvuvgpPxArX/s1600-h/Dscf3519.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335214980398659170" style="WIDTH: 228px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-BFWtYVtJ9BFKx_maAGEGA_pSjjP39AU43sEOeiaMfXP0KuNk_oEXQMM375yxlBsB_S3otlm4SOBbZlz0L9Ds1eqe12DyvcweHrBZFZ8zo9MS5tkcYmkAFQ2J6VIL2aLWOyvuvgpPxArX/s320/Dscf3519.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAEuZES9z4Cw7kafFkl59frijbgmt5a6ter8eqZqC4MtwvIGOW9iPP68A6WtuinVcbGJVj5BnLkqFdho1uoECM3V5_qH_tJVx4gUF4rQIoI2ZFa6k6MNa0lP_1jsCzAtu0ZkHyIervJ0Ko/s1600-h/Dscf3499.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335214973559037618" style="WIDTH: 242px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAEuZES9z4Cw7kafFkl59frijbgmt5a6ter8eqZqC4MtwvIGOW9iPP68A6WtuinVcbGJVj5BnLkqFdho1uoECM3V5_qH_tJVx4gUF4rQIoI2ZFa6k6MNa0lP_1jsCzAtu0ZkHyIervJ0Ko/s320/Dscf3499.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxfwjgU_CvNnZvhHJxnCfDxoTRJWE34YUUIusLiy723m6-FnUNmO5G-SlZ0ahXupqgVm82m66xJvuw03ySgNNZINMqsU92hecCcUe5Bnz_lz4e3bZnKurCOCNhaAOZLYnpo-bt5Z_jy-L4/s1600-h/Dscf3580a.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335214973568309570" style="WIDTH: 230px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxfwjgU_CvNnZvhHJxnCfDxoTRJWE34YUUIusLiy723m6-FnUNmO5G-SlZ0ahXupqgVm82m66xJvuw03ySgNNZINMqsU92hecCcUe5Bnz_lz4e3bZnKurCOCNhaAOZLYnpo-bt5Z_jy-L4/s320/Dscf3580a.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div> </div></div></div>Pathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04495028405455874666noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4629642069200719882.post-68055685378737432902009-04-13T04:36:00.000-07:002009-04-13T05:00:50.910-07:00My recent crafting...Okay I had a birthday.... and so I came across this sewing machine in a magazine that I thought a bargain for all that it does. I had a free arm machine before moving here, but with the move and all I left it behind, besides the electrics aren't the same. So finally after 12 or so years, I finally got a new sewing machine. I did buy an older used machine when I first moved here and it is still a good machine and now my back up machine, but it doesn't have a free arm or any fancy stitches other than straight and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">zig</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">zag</span>. But it is still a machine worth hanging onto. But this post is about my new machine.....<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqRQFpZvxHzXdbtwDkgr7T-RGOVB-DyZZQDaq7LA6WlKuolHMzht6D3GBL0nxW9S39T7Kq6w9ecLhzaFrr0g1RmkW2iTGWS5vQ3ujF_s6CboJi1tjLKFqg5aniQaVEnMJjEc2r5VFhMUL1/s1600-h/Dscf2852.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324138675250653218" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqRQFpZvxHzXdbtwDkgr7T-RGOVB-DyZZQDaq7LA6WlKuolHMzht6D3GBL0nxW9S39T7Kq6w9ecLhzaFrr0g1RmkW2iTGWS5vQ3ujF_s6CboJi1tjLKFqg5aniQaVEnMJjEc2r5VFhMUL1/s320/Dscf2852.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />It is a Toyota. I know they make good cars. And after using this machine they make great sewing machines too!!!! I bought mine from this website. <a href="http://www.home-sewing.com/">http://www.home-sewing.com/</a><br />And it was delivered in a few days time. It not only has the lovely free arm but has a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">preprogrammed</span> button hole settings. And and and!!!! it does the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">over locking</span> stitch!!! I was really really excited about this. I had looked at <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">over locking</span> machines and admired them and dreamed that maybe one day I might get one. But really couldn't see why I <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">coveted</span> a machine that only did one type of stitch. So put off getting one. Now my new sewing machine does it and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">alot</span> more!!! There is one down fall to this machine that I have found, but really if all said and done, to me it isn't really, is that it has no way of changing stitch size. The stitches are preset to a dial. You have a straight stitch but there are three straight stitches. Only three nothing <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">in between</span>. I can live with that. There is also a great mending stitch and I have used that for several projects that have been patiently waiting attention. I now have jeans that are in fashion again, with mended patches and our bed throws from the pouncing cats to ward off the bed mice have all been mended. The one that was beyond mending has now been made into everyday napkins. A great way to save on using kitchen towels. And also made into two laundry bags as our old cat scratched laundry hamper has now seen it's last days.<br /> I have plans for this new machine!!! Little outfits for my grand daughter, and back to sewing quilts and making bags and all sorts of useful things for the home. So watch this space.<br /><br />On the card making side of things I have been busy with a contest again on my <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">ebay</span> group. We made cards for the Marie Curie Charity. And had a little contest between ourselves with the cards going to Marie Curie. This card is one of the extra cards I made to send along.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoomrAE0FxALEfx64LGk8XxMrEKb-QRSBpmHRzxeCvfzFg2apMSOeKNfmiYISzgs5oQCR3tHomFNvSoe4DEUgFGJX97MnT59AVZkliz9AaJUODCIbWKHt8bPkVqM-wRV0otxlkNnGOFxfh/s1600-h/Dscf2959.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324139260107365490" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 258px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoomrAE0FxALEfx64LGk8XxMrEKb-QRSBpmHRzxeCvfzFg2apMSOeKNfmiYISzgs5oQCR3tHomFNvSoe4DEUgFGJX97MnT59AVZkliz9AaJUODCIbWKHt8bPkVqM-wRV0otxlkNnGOFxfh/s320/Dscf2959.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />And these two are cards I made for the competition.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtLKeLJ_yLp0YETYjbBjxD2PpU-SISKV3rNGC7Nwt1Jah13VDhMcNMObLQBQdFhoFBoC-AmvdMLUvvqaGa-6lTshGbEdzaC8pwfKlrMEWwoaLdvWfW0NvC0Sh06fuWdeuw8-vzhUESUcn8/s1600-h/11.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324139260681794434" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 239px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtLKeLJ_yLp0YETYjbBjxD2PpU-SISKV3rNGC7Nwt1Jah13VDhMcNMObLQBQdFhoFBoC-AmvdMLUvvqaGa-6lTshGbEdzaC8pwfKlrMEWwoaLdvWfW0NvC0Sh06fuWdeuw8-vzhUESUcn8/s320/11.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW_-XH54D2SdkJoF7rcizcyXQjcKehJpFqdHLAX696E3O8bvZ7FbOp-3PqoIXLivN7K8TfzhEwVHg1BK8QyEOztd2YQYhVwosZfnUTk00024i8_JC2kzRjFq2x9ynpKh-UwsL1PBkLepGT/s1600-h/2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324139255961899682" style="WIDTH: 241px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW_-XH54D2SdkJoF7rcizcyXQjcKehJpFqdHLAX696E3O8bvZ7FbOp-3PqoIXLivN7K8TfzhEwVHg1BK8QyEOztd2YQYhVwosZfnUTk00024i8_JC2kzRjFq2x9ynpKh-UwsL1PBkLepGT/s320/2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I didn't win this time. All the cards have gone down to my friend in Cornwall by the way to be sold for her critter rescue. I hope they sell well for her.<br /><br />This first card is a stamp by designer Rachelle Anne Miller and is a Lily and Milo Clear Stamp of a lovely Hedgehog couple. If you check out my <a href="http://ourgarden-pat.blogspot.com/">garden blog</a> you can probably tell that at the moment I am totally enamored of hedgehogs lately. Our little friend is a big part of our life and I just think they are <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">soooooo</span> cute as I think this stamp is too. For more information about this stamp and lots of other cute stamps you can find it at <a href="http://www.stampavie.com/">http://www.stampavie.com/</a>.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtZBcbJuisQPYCnoWwLJDO3Tt8D-TbXip0T5IcbmsZe0mpQaRhHDU0E8p-Envn6Qo-Qo4UXzRaec4g89ZLZ88LDV2EMu0JDXQuqHai_0kTP4X1rt_SL8_qmvmBGh28Dg7VXT38J8le55ms/s1600-h/Dscf2513.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298557187647844034" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 234px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtZBcbJuisQPYCnoWwLJDO3Tt8D-TbXip0T5IcbmsZe0mpQaRhHDU0E8p-Envn6Qo-Qo4UXzRaec4g89ZLZ88LDV2EMu0JDXQuqHai_0kTP4X1rt_SL8_qmvmBGh28Dg7VXT38J8le55ms/s320/Dscf2513.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />I think it makes a lovely valentine card and also plan to use it to make Anniversary cards too. Who knows I may even use it for a wedding card, if I knew of anyone getting married that is.<br /><br />This one is a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Housemouse</span> stamp that I have had for ages. I recently bought some new water colouring pencils from <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">WH</span> Smiths for 1/2 off and wanted to try them out. They work beautifully.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK5uuaNu2B0wzJtSy6ZMeFqxR9w_xrcNTMsBqoxm2qW_PpBJxYC3NPugTFt-Hgd5YZQKV2KTplfq0AYFZJfqn44KK9Fywx_ImVk2MMPwS2dxhAhKAXuHWaRWWh4aPAcK6k3YAWYmPuUI9B/s1600-h/Dscf2498.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298556966840179442" style="WIDTH: 249px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK5uuaNu2B0wzJtSy6ZMeFqxR9w_xrcNTMsBqoxm2qW_PpBJxYC3NPugTFt-Hgd5YZQKV2KTplfq0AYFZJfqn44KK9Fywx_ImVk2MMPwS2dxhAhKAXuHWaRWWh4aPAcK6k3YAWYmPuUI9B/s320/Dscf2498.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Ohhhhhh</span> another hedgehog..... This is a Penny black stamp. They have loads of hedgehog stamps and I am slowly getting a small collection of them. I enjoy using their clear stamps as I think they are such a great bargain. You get about 8 or so stamps for the price of what you would normally pay for one wood mounted rubber stamp. And there is a nice mix in the sets to cover <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">alot</span> of different occasions.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdDg3Gh1eeBrRmCpd0RELcmXI132XKa5L1XtgQt1V7Q6SsdtZ7US9stOd0pSIHVvZo7cQ42o0Zi9awiesTg_T6CBArTmX8FHSHaL-AzkBV0DymEZumJH5sgq8L2tfPIZmCfoinEb6b-9AQ/s1600-h/Dscf2492.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298556969458012482" style="WIDTH: 250px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdDg3Gh1eeBrRmCpd0RELcmXI132XKa5L1XtgQt1V7Q6SsdtZ7US9stOd0pSIHVvZo7cQ42o0Zi9awiesTg_T6CBArTmX8FHSHaL-AzkBV0DymEZumJH5sgq8L2tfPIZmCfoinEb6b-9AQ/s320/Dscf2492.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /></div><br /><div>I used my <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Wizzard</span> dies to cut out the scalloped and plain nested circles to layer my toppers. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>This next stamp I thought was <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">sooooooo</span> cute and can not only be used for valentines day but for other occasions too, like birthdays and mothers day etc. I bought her along with a few other stamps that I will show at a later date from <a href="http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/">http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/</a> . I am really itching to get back to them too once I can summon up the eneregy as I have several new stamps that I want to try out. And some new sketches to try also, let alone a few challenges I would like to give a try. I guess one sometimes just can't hurry getting better.</div><br /><div>I did summon enough energy yesterday though to make a friend a card. She is going in for surgery today on a cancerous lump. So my thoughts are going out to her and I am sending them along in this card.</div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV3BUc5D-l_Vl4kdqBjUDQnXb2yc2cgp4QgXHmCJC5dY6b7p9mQ4sWPiEi8lT1X_uk-y0JIIKXUZPVSX-hlkksQPl8cUmsda5G1LcuybrE-bi6doAJO12w1KAZ2FcEHpMaIyac3uGtZU0k/s1600-h/Dscf2327.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281453834935943426" style="WIDTH: 318px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV3BUc5D-l_Vl4kdqBjUDQnXb2yc2cgp4QgXHmCJC5dY6b7p9mQ4sWPiEi8lT1X_uk-y0JIIKXUZPVSX-hlkksQPl8cUmsda5G1LcuybrE-bi6doAJO12w1KAZ2FcEHpMaIyac3uGtZU0k/s320/Dscf2327.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Whizzy's Card <br />I hope she has a speedy recovery and they get it all. I first started out making my own recycled paper and card. Then I would decorate them with pressed dried flowers and leaves. I am now into rubber stamping in a big way and have an ever growing stamp collection like many who are addicted to card making.<br /><br />I make my cards for my friends and family for their birthdays, anniversaries, etc. But I also make cards for various charities. This year I know I have made well over 100 cards for charity and hopefully next year the number will be even more. I always try to make some for the <a href="http://www.docrafts.co.uk/asp/articles/?page=261">Marie Curie Cancer</a>card drive and have been taking part for the last three years now in that. I also make cards for a friend down in Cornwall for a cat charity, that helps to rehome cats. Whose owners can either no longer take care of them or the owners have died and the cats have no where else to go.They are usually older cats that need a new home, but I think they have now joined up with another cat rescue and also rehome unwanted kittens too. They are the <a href="http://www.rainbowlittlecatrescue.org.uk/about.htm">Rainbow Little Cat Rescue </a>I am rather partial to cats and to dogs too for that matter and have in the past made some cards for another friend to take to a dog rescue centre.<br /><br />Besides these very worthwhile causes another one I usually make cards around Christmas time for is for <a href="http://www.mencap.org.uk/">Mencap</a>. Or rather a group that is associated with it called the Trailblazers of St. Helens. My friend's son has Cerebral Palsy, and what this group does is takes the kids out giving them something to look forward to and also giving the folks that care for them a bit of a break. I think my friend said they were planing on taking the kids to see a pantomine over the Christmas holidays. They go on camping trips and sometimes horseback riding and all sorts of fun activities. Another very worthwhile cause.<br /><br />So if anyone has any cool and clever ideas I would love to hear from you or if you have any tips for making cards for charities I could always use the ideas.<br /><br />Here are just a few of the cards I made recently for the Charities at Christmas.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNSzXpsV6zKAtal753SgMGq7yQQSV64C2Gnmbqe9GxxyYWyVyFZGu7-jgoBXkgkO9zqFDqILF557TbMLonCZukQf4twIgqkexOIrr7Sb74YJj3smsSVybVqfTO4MHibV0U-Ok5LUJAMk2F/s1600-h/Dscf1824.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279241040386144290" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 224px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNSzXpsV6zKAtal753SgMGq7yQQSV64C2Gnmbqe9GxxyYWyVyFZGu7-jgoBXkgkO9zqFDqILF557TbMLonCZukQf4twIgqkexOIrr7Sb74YJj3smsSVybVqfTO4MHibV0U-Ok5LUJAMk2F/s320/Dscf1824.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuqaaPLrazilnaJFvsEXtFgvUHDUB1Rx6q4RmNaxgo8TTycNV59erivtHOrSWT-TLE_4GWxh478h6ZCoyH6pinQCbr8PhR_mnHkBVm96md4hO6tDHjOytfBBXz5XWmSqaJjbPRJ23hXUkn/s1600-h/Dscf1822.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279241042314441442" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 237px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuqaaPLrazilnaJFvsEXtFgvUHDUB1Rx6q4RmNaxgo8TTycNV59erivtHOrSWT-TLE_4GWxh478h6ZCoyH6pinQCbr8PhR_mnHkBVm96md4hO6tDHjOytfBBXz5XWmSqaJjbPRJ23hXUkn/s320/Dscf1822.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8-Jawft0Q0kJZ8DTKJTtR0iUuamGZZI7qmpVJOe-t0FWSjB776Wt-WnDLHz37iLq_zuncjK5jpqn69ycT187MbNRIbdM_fVBIvvyxIyCu1g4WRgofIUuW1MEHkEIwE0a7TBoaebWCuxf4/s1600-h/Dscf1832.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279241042192724226" style="WIDTH: 214px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8-Jawft0Q0kJZ8DTKJTtR0iUuamGZZI7qmpVJOe-t0FWSjB776Wt-WnDLHz37iLq_zuncjK5jpqn69ycT187MbNRIbdM_fVBIvvyxIyCu1g4WRgofIUuW1MEHkEIwE0a7TBoaebWCuxf4/s320/Dscf1832.jpg" border="0" /></a></div>Pathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04495028405455874666noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4629642069200719882.post-55917499907212812912008-12-10T00:08:00.000-08:002008-12-10T00:19:29.900-08:00Woodland Elves...OOAK Candy to be won!!!<a href="http://pollycraftdesigns.blogspot.com/2008/12/woodland-elvesooak-candy-to-be-won.html">Tales From Pollycraft</a> has some really cool blog candy being given away over on their blog.<br />So if you are into Rubberstamps and enjoy Fairytales and elves I would advise you get over there and have a look.Pathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04495028405455874666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4629642069200719882.post-18577113633997081422008-12-07T13:45:00.000-08:002008-12-07T15:01:29.581-08:00IntroductionOkay I have been bitten by the <a href="http://www.magnolia.nu/">Magnolia bug.</a> I find these some of the cutest stamps I have seen lately and I am in awe with the cards people are producing to show off these beautiful images. So I figure I would start a card and crafts blog since I have a food and gardening blog along with my main blog. So here it is... my blog for showing off my cards. I have been probably making cards now for about 20 years. And crafting for at least 30 some odd years since my grandmother taught me how to sew and crochet.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggLtraE_LK8vb-KiDWMjzxhaRRu6sxAmF-VcNZsRDoh6IGgZjra9Oaoe3O1U3zjXmBA1qIr5RftH5l7xgd_8DrONzAtxul-OCHhbXfXdbmdIYWd06dmhtd1ew_oMaqrUKqn63amlKpPUml/s1600-h/Dscf2201.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277167904801183106" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 306px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggLtraE_LK8vb-KiDWMjzxhaRRu6sxAmF-VcNZsRDoh6IGgZjra9Oaoe3O1U3zjXmBA1qIr5RftH5l7xgd_8DrONzAtxul-OCHhbXfXdbmdIYWd06dmhtd1ew_oMaqrUKqn63amlKpPUml/s320/Dscf2201.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />This card I made for a friend for Christmas. I used lots of stuff from my stash (I have a whole room of it!!!) I took card stock and made a square card then covered it in a patterned paper and then glued on two flower corner pieces that I cute out using my Cuttlebug from the same cardstock as the card. I also cut backing pieces for the embossed snowflake rectangle and the Wizard Nestabilities Scalloped Circle. I then cut out a plain circle from patterned paper to go inside the scalloped circle and a rectangle from white card which I embossed with the snowflake folder with the Cuttlebug. The Magnolia stamp I stamped onto white card and then painted her with water colours using my water colour crayons. I added two brads to the rectangle and then layered it all together. And added on the Season's Greetings embellishment.<br />I used a sketch for this one from one of the lovely ladies whose blog I read. I will endeavor to do better at giving credit in the future posts and also hopefully more details on materials used. <br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNNkRaedKCcCzRv4snW0aghSevs2H6bQ36xF9nyI3YW5fYAGYGVqE8YgEWVhQjETHE0DB1Ct8G_31XWSCr6I4tK70n90uTY9oIm3fkKUM9rGrzsf1gJTJjEQ-JCPBBoYydcNLuFI-nGIWj/s1600-h/Dscf2196.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277167899765912050" style="WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 308px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNNkRaedKCcCzRv4snW0aghSevs2H6bQ36xF9nyI3YW5fYAGYGVqE8YgEWVhQjETHE0DB1Ct8G_31XWSCr6I4tK70n90uTY9oIm3fkKUM9rGrzsf1gJTJjEQ-JCPBBoYydcNLuFI-nGIWj/s320/Dscf2196.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div><div>Again this one I cut a square card and then layered it with different Christmas themed papers from my stash. I also added peel offs around the center square and the sentiment. I just love this Santa and he paints up beautifully. On the papers I inked the edges of the large square and the smaller rectangle. I also found that the Santa was too bright looking so I took some tan coloured chalks and rubbed over him to make him a bit more blended looking. This one I used my own sketch for layering up. I did play around with different shapes before settling on this one for him. </div><div> </div><div>Anyway I hope you all enjoy my first cards here on my new blog and hopefully more to come in the near future. </div><div> </div><div></div>Pathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04495028405455874666noreply@blogger.com0
